Spring is coming...

Happy Valentines Day.

 

This has been one of the longest winters in Moab that I can remember.  That being said and proven by the photo.  Spring is coming!    It is almost President's Day Weekend and that is the starting gate for our season to begin.  Easter Jeep Safari is early this year from March 22nd to the 31st.  Then we go right into the April Action Car Show at the end of April.  Spring time brings some great activities as well as jeeping. 

You can not find a better time of year to be in Moab than May.  The weather is amazing and the colors of the desert in bloom can not be beat.

We have a new fleet this year of some 2012's and mostly 2013's.  In fact we are still waiting for 2 more new jeeps to arrive so we can get the lift kits installed and Yokohama Tires on.  Then it wil be time to get these beauties out on the trails.

End of February and first part of March we have plenty of available dates and we would love to have you come check out the new jeeps and get them out for a maiden voyage or two.

Elephant Hill, Canyonlands National Park

The past two weeks we have had a couple of different groups of reps and salesmen from Yokohama Tire Company here to use our jeeps that we proudly run the Geolander AT/S on.

We have another group coming next week and the final group will be here for the first week of November.

They always seem to have a great time testing their tires on some of the best places on earth to jeep.

Last week, Steve took a group of them out to 4 wheel in Canyonlands National Park's Needles District.  It is an amazing section of the park with some great things to see, such as Newspaper Rock.
There is also some neat places to hike and the off road trails are fantastic.

If you have rented a jeep from us in the past and would like to try something a little different, this would be a great option.

You can start booking your jeeps now for next year and this would be a nice day trip in the late spring.

Moab + Fall Weather= Great Jeeping

I just noticed that we have been so busy with the jeep and car rentals that our blog has not been updated!

Success has a double edge.  While we are so very thankful for our customers and want to take the best care of them and give them the adventure of their dreams.  It also means that we haven't take time to post any of the fun and new happenings going on here. 

Moab may have had a shortage of water this year, just like the rest of the country, and river rafting was not as busy as previous years, but the jeeps and new rental cars were out in full force.

The staff this year saw some familiar faces, but mostly a new crew too.  It is even more fun though for the new crew to see the way our favorite and return customers are when they come in to get a jeep and it feels like a family reunion of sorts.  We do not take any of you for granted.

We are getting ready for a busy hurrah of Autumn and the next six weeks looks full of excitement.  Not just with the jeeping, but there is always a variety of other activities to do in Moab as well.

New Rental Cars

With our new location at the Moab Airport, we have increased our rental fleet. We will offer competitive pricing on all our Vans and Cars, Call us and let us fill in the details.

Autumn Splendor in Moab

The temperatures have been in the low 60's and the sun is shining! Perfect weather for jeeping. All of our jeeps are on Winter Special until February 15, 2012. We are offering 25% discount on any jeep rental. Also the rental cars are all available for $79.00 per day.

Thanksgiving is around the corner and the jeeps are booking fast. Makes me take a minute to give thanks for all of our customers who helped make this one of our best years yet. Hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving!

New fleet items

The rental of jeeps and cars have been going great. We did not have the July slow down as we have seen in the past.

In fact the cars are going so well we have added a 2011 Chevy Impala to the fleet. Rate will be $89.00 a day with the 300 miles a day included. Watch the web site for the addition of the new pictures soon.

Also in the coming weeks we will be adding a few more new jeeps to the fleet to rotate the older ones out.

Business has been good and steady this year and we are thankful for all the customers that have made it that way. It has been a fun summer with a lot of return customers! Hope to see more of you again soon.

White Rim Trail Update

This is the latest information from the National Park Service:

"The White Rim between Potato and Mineral Bottom is still closed."

There is a large body of water that encroached on the road between the park boundry and Mineral Bottom. The Green River's shrinkage will have little effect on this body of water. It will need to evaporate before this section of road is passable. There will be other areas including Upheaval that will need work once it dries out.

We are finally in the beginning of what looks to be a great summer for Moab. The jeeps are still in new, great condition and the rental cars are proving to be a great addition to the fleet.

It is not too late to plan your adventure in Moab. Midweek seems to be a slower time, but if you want to be here on a weekend we can make the accomodations for your jeep or car with about a week of advance planning.

This has been a mild spring, so it is not too hot... yet. However as we are getting warmer the water run off is going good and the Colorado River is full and running fast. June is a great time to take a river trip on the Moab Daily with Moab Adventure Center.

Finally, a break in the weather! Sun is out and the days are cool (for Moab). We lived through the end of world and are still here. Time to come to Moab for some fun in the sun. Starting June 1st we will extend our office hours from 7:30am to 8PM. That means you can have dinner and pick up your Jeep the night before at no extra charge!!!!

Another Day in Paradise

Ok, I know for most of us Moab is paradise and we are blessed to live, work and play here full time! If you have been thinking of a trip here, Now is the Time! Yesterday was a beautiful 86 degrees of sunshine and blue skies. The spring wildflowers are blooming and the colors are lush and vibrant. You get the best of both worlds, jeeping and amazing photography opportunites abound.

I think spring is finally here, the air is cool and the Jeeping is great! If you haven't seem spring in the desert you are missing some awesome colors. Weekdays are especially nice the crowds are minimal and it's easy to get into all the great restaurants. See you in MOAB!

April Action Car Show

We are in the midst of the 19th annual April Action Car Show and town is buzzing... or rather growling with muscle cars with big V8s, hot rods, rat rods and more convertibles than you can imagine. We are sold out of jeeps today, but still have a couple for Saturday and lots for Sunday.

Come on down to Moab, check out the car show and go jeeping! Then watch the nightly cruise in the evenings. This really is one of the most fun events that Moab has to offer! If you can not make it this year plan ahead for next year. Every year it gets bigger and better.

Easter Jeep Safari

We are midway through the annual Easter Jeep Safari and having a blast! The new jeeps are doing well and the customers seem to be enjoying themselves.

Next week is the beginning of our best season yet. Bookings are strong and gas prices are.... well, you know!

We have a fleet of new Jeeps waiting to be used with satellite radios in all of them. New for this year at Canyonlands Jeep is the addition of cars and vans for those of you who don't really need an back country experience.

We are located inside the Moab Adventure Center at 225 S main your one stop for all the adventures in and around Moab.

Spring has sprung in Moab!

The clocks have been set ahead for daylight savings time and that means that spring is just around the corner. We have a new fleet of jeeps and they have been modified with the lift kit and oversized tires and they are ready for rent.

There are a few jeeps left for Easter Jeep Safari and the April Action Car show so if you haven't booked a jeep or have been thinking about a first visit to Moab come on down and let us get you out on a back-country adventure.

New to Canyonlands Jeep this year are car rentals. We are offering a 4 door Malibu or a Mustang convertible for $79.00 per day and a Chrysler mini-van for $89.00 per day. We are excited about this new addition to our company and hope our customers are too.

Starting on April 1st our office hours will also extend to 7:30am to 7pm.

White Rim and Mineral Bottom Road

As many of you may remember last fall a major rainstorm hit Canyonlands and washed out the Mineral Bottom Road. This road is a major access and exit point for the White Rim Trail. The White Rim is a must do if you are looking for a great backcountry experience in the Moab area. The views from the White Rim rival some of the best scenery in the world. Well after the Governor of Utah got involved to hurry the process of getting the road fixed. We are excited to announce that the road will reopen on March 29, 2011. The road is actually done two months sooner then anticipated. This is great news for spring outdoor enthusiasts. If you are looking for a great few days in one of the most beautiful and remote places in the lower 48 then this is the trip for you.

New Year = New Jeeps

We are looking forward to this week's arrival of 10 new jeeps to add to our fleet. We will have the lift kits and bigger tires installed and ready to go before we are officially in springtime.
